Neodymium ball magnet, also known as Bucky ball and magnetic ball, are spherical magnets that are commonly used as consumer products, stress relievers, educational toys or art media. Neodymium ball magnets have a polarity configuration similar to that of the earth. Neodymium ball magnets are available in a variety of diameters, grades and colors.
The processing of neodymium ball magnets has been less of a concern than the color and creative shapes. Sintered neodymium magnets are quite hard and brittle, so they cannot be machined by forging technology like the commonly used steel ball bearings. In fact, the machining process of spherical magnets is mainly done through a profiling process. The profiling process is usually based on the selection of neodymium cylindrical magnets of suitable size as raw material in terms of dimensional accuracy, processing efficiency and material utilization.

In general, most neodymium ball magnets are magnetized through their diameter, meaning the north and south poles are located on opposite sides of the sphere.
